Before you choose
Which trip suits your family
Every trip welcomes babies and grandparents. Here is what we plan for each age: how long, how far, and which sample trip is the closest fit.
Ages 0 to 4
Travelling with babies and toddlers
Fewer hotel changes and one main plan a day, timed around naps. Long legs are broken up, and a night train can be swapped for a private car or a short flight.
- Base in Da Nang or Hoi An and take day trips from one hotel
- Beach, pool or park time most afternoons
- Babysitter on request in Da Nang and Hoi An
Ages 5 to 12
Travelling with school-age kids
Boats, bikes, caves and farm animals, with something hands-on most days. This is the age when a night train or a cave boat becomes the story they tell at school.
- Sampan boats through the Trang An caves
- A farm day and a cave boat in Phong Nha
- Lantern or cooking workshops in Hoi An
Ages 13 and up
Travelling with teens
Teens can take longer days out and more of the country: north to south, history, caves, and real free time in Hoi An and by the sea.
- The Cu Chi tunnels by speedboat from Saigon
- Beach days and island time on Con Dao
- Cycling the countryside around Ninh Binh and Hoi An
Every generation
Travelling with grandparents
No steep climbs, short walks with a seat nearby, and the big sites seen the easy way, like the Hue Citadel by electric cart and Ba Na Hills by cable car.
- Fewer hotel changes and free mornings
- Lunch in the shade, early dinners
- We can help you get to a clinic if anyone feels unwell

Family tours: before you ask
Short answers from our trip planners. Anything else, we are a message away.
Message us on WhatsAppAre your Vietnam family tours private?
Yes. Every trip is just your family, with your own car and driver, local guides on tour days and hotels chosen for your group.
Can we change a sample itinerary?
Always. The trips on this page were planned for real families. We change the route, the number of days, the hotels and the pace to suit yours.
How much does a family tour of Vietnam cost?
It depends on the length, the hotels and how many people are coming. As a guide, the sample trips here run from $830 for a family of four (guides and transfers, 10 days) to $2,659 for a couple with 10 hotel nights. We quote one price for your whole family, and the first plan is free.
Can we bring a baby or a toddler?
Yes, babies are welcome on every trip. We keep drives short and plan around naps, and a babysitter is available on request in Da Nang and Hoi An.
Are your tours easy for grandparents?
Yes. We avoid steep climbs, keep two nights or more per stop where we can, and use electric carts and cable cars at the big sites. Tell us early about stairs or walking and we plan the easiest way round.
Where can our trip start and end?
In Hanoi, Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City. You can see one region or travel the whole country. Our home base and office are in Da Nang.
How far ahead should we plan?
Two to four months ahead is ideal, especially for school holidays and Tet. Shorter notice often works too, so just ask.
